Technology Lead – Data Science

Role Overview:
As a Technology Lead in the Data Sciences team, you will be responsible for leading a high-performance team of data scientists and machine learning engineers. Your primary focus will be to provide innovative solutions to customers using large language models and OpenAI technologies. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing data science projects while ensuring the team’s technical excellence and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support throughout projects.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, project managers, and developers, to understand customer requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
3. Utilize Python as the primary programming language for data analysis, modeling, and algorithm development.
4. Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to solve complex business problems and extract insights from large datasets.
5. Leverage large language models and OpenAI or similar technologies to build intelligent and scalable solutions for customers.
6. Drive research and development initiatives to stay at the forefront of advancements in data science and machine learning.
7. Ensure the implementation of best practices in data science, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
8. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from ideation and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring.
9. Evaluate and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and libraries to enhance the team’s productivity and project delivery.
10. Collaborate with the sales and pre-sales teams to support business development activities, including technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proposal development.
11. Recruit and mentor a team of freshers.

Experience Required: 8 – 15 years

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field. Though educational qualifications is not mandatory for this position, experience is.
2. 7+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
3. Strong expertise in Python programming and its scientific libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
4. Solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning techniques.
5. Experience working with large language models and OpenAI technologies, such as GPT-3 or similar models.
6. Proficiency in natural language processing (NLP) and text mining techniques.
7. Hands-on experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
8. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services for scalable model deployment.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and critically.
10. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
11. Should be capable of doing quick PoC’s, technology demonstrations in 2-3 weeks’ time.
12. Should be hands-on and willing to discuss and show case work done for other companies wherever possible.
